Let's just toss out one more fact, from years of men and women serving together in the military. Women get pregnant, and end up getting evacuated out of the area, be it a ship, or a land, or an air unit, and put on "limited duty". Men don't have this restriction.

Ahh...so according to you it's not okay to assume that women do not have the physical capability to do the job, but it is okay to assume that men are "dumb hulks"....?

One point is that a guy can drag his buddy out of fire, most women cannot do so...they have problems lifting even their own weight, much less someone who weighs more than they do. Just one example of women not pulling their own weight.

Deal with it.
That is why they must pass the physical test.

I would not want to have someone who could not pass the physical test covering my back, male or female.

But their standards are much less than their male counterparts. If done fairly, it would be EQUAL, equal expectations. But of course, men aren't going to be sent home from the front lines pregnant either.

One More Time, I have been in Combat in Vietnam, with Khmer Krom who brought their women along. They manned the mortars. I am proud of every soldier male or female.

spent 20 year in military~ was highly involved with integrating women into the antisub warfare squadrons~ served with some great people.... never met a woman sailor that did not pull her weight~ can't say the same for the guys..... Let them serve anywhere they wish.
