I can see how you could do well at the quarter "tables" (no limit I assume).

I usually played 50/100 cent limit holdem.

gambling should be legal, online is a sore subject in a way. if you legalize onine then you distract from Vegas, Biloxi, etc.

Also Gambling is a personal choice and should not be subject to those that don't or think it's a bad thing to do. We have laws to protect Americans we don't need Americans acting as judge and jury on something they don't do for whatever reason.

if this is a reference to my .50/1.00 no limit gambling, I didn't make myself cleaar.

.50/1.00 refers to the betting levels. Hard to explain without going into great detail. The important point is that its not a lotto type game where a dollar is the payoff for a 50 cent ticket.
No Limit texas holdem is like a poker game. Each player has an equal chance to win. In a .50/1.00 table 50 cents is the ante. one dollar is the minum bet. Thats where the 50/100 comes from.

You can thank the stupid Republicans for outlawing on line gambling, the main one being Jon Kyl from my state. I used to bet on sports with Pinnacle, who had by far the best odds. After this happened, they closed my account, and refused all USA players.

Anyone have an opinion about whether it should be legalized or is it better this way?

Personnally, I enjoy a good game of Texas Hold 'em so I miss it.

Whats your opinion?
Probably haven't found a way to prevent under aged people from doing it, either. However, I was just thinking, "Gee, I'd like to go to the casino but does everyone have the flu?"

Then again, there's no buffet lunch at my desktop.

You are right. Whether this was a major consideration, I'm sure part of the justification is that you can not protect against underage gambling.

What's wrong with kids gambling? The first time I lost my allowance at cards, I learned a lesson that I have not forgotten.

Why can't we just tax things that can be taxed, and let people do everything else without taxing it? If the government said "We are going to ban discussion forums, because we can't find a way to tax them", would that make sense?

If they can tax winnings, shouldn't we be able to declare loses for a tax break? Doesn't seem fair otherwise.

Yes, and you can. You can declare your gambling losses for tax purposes. You have to be able to prove it, which is not easy.

In fact, if you are eligible for welfare, medicaid, etc. and you get a lump sum income, you can declare that you gambled it away and not lose your eligibility for benefits. In that case, you are not required to show proof.
