Yeah, the women lose all dignity in order to make 200k a year. I wonder what happens when they get old and ugly--that is, if they make it to old age. Most of them probably don't.
Then they find a new way to make a living, or simply live off the money they made in their twenties, if they are smart enough to invest well. And, despite the cliches, some are very sharp.
I disagree that they have lost any dignity. I think if you dig deeper into the psychology of most marriages, you'll find money and security from men is no small part of the equation. Add in the social and parental approval aspect and I literally just encapsulated most marriages.
Which is more pathetic? Which requires more courage? Which is more honest?

Why's that? Most, that's not a typo, most women end up selling themselves for money via marriage. Even if they didn't go into it unhappy they stay for that reason. She was able to live without the help of a man her entire life, lives in a palace, and can send her kids to private school.
Tito grew up on the mean streets and is now a self-made millionaire. He works out at the gym for a few hours a day with his friends, then works (ie fights) a few times a year. His job is less dangerous than a truck driver or someone with a long commute, all told.
These people have had to do less work they dislike in their day-to-day lives than 99 percent of the planet and have palaces and endless cash to show for it. They have the intellectual security to handle the cognitive dissonance thrown their way from jealous, undoubtedly unintelligent and physically less-attractive people who work crappy jobs.
No. Better they be raised by some miserable secretary or nurse or marketing director who hate their jobs and subsequently their lives, unable and unwilling to pursue better careers and passions do to their need for peer acceptance.

I disagree. When people marry they become family. Men and women in marriages care for their mates in extraordinary ways. To compare this to prostitution is off the mark. As an aside, I believe recent stats show that women are dominating the work force. Men are being laid off in droves. Your attempt to generalize a minority of marriages onto the majority is poor form.
