I think it should be mandated, that all Cig. butts should burn down to nothing. Including the filter. I just got through with my daily "Butt patrol" on my sidewalk. Butts clutter every curb, and every intersection. Skaters. runners and Bikers, have to get up close and personal to them. The only thing worse, use to be the "pull tabs" from drink cans. those and butts were taking over. Now it is just the "Butts"

I'm a smoker, and that annoys me. It doesn't take much to put the damn thing out and walk over to the garbage can and throw it away, or stick it back into the cigarette pack to toss later if there isn't a place to throw it out handy.

Maybe you should put a big ashtray outside your shop on the sidewalk.

If they burnt down to nothing, many smokers would burn their lips.

The rings are, at least, recyclable.

That's funny! I do agree with skateguy though. I don't smoke anymore, but when I did I never through them out for someone else to pick up.

I even used to put it in my pocket for later disposal.

Good Links. I signed up. --butts are even worse when they are wet. Our Parks are full of them. but they are so hard to pick up, the maintenance guys just leave them. One day we will have a full carpet of butts, rather than grass. "People if you must smoke, be responsible, and eat yer butts"

That doesn't help. The smokers' area outside of my office has a patio table (with umbrella), benches, chairs, and a nice big ashtray for people to use.

Never gets used if you notice the amount of butts on the patio table, the benches, and the ground. Talk about ridiculously lazy and inconsiderate.

Im a smoker unfortunately. I go out for smoke breaks at work occasionally in the same spot everyone else does. It sickens me to see butts everywhere on the ground. I dont want people thinking I did it but im a smoker and guilty by association i guess.
