What part of "outside public view" did you not understand? As for your second question, it depends on the guests.

Well, the "guests" at the public library aren't YOUR guests, and they didn't come to see that. So they have every right to take offense at it being done in a public area. The library is NOT outside the pubic view.

EDIT: Oops, PUBLIC view.

So your question about my guests was not relevant.

How can I look if porn isn't allowed.

Oh, it's still relevant. If you invite guests to your home, expose yourself, and they are offended, you are still actionable. Even though it was in your own home.

So most people take pains not to offend others...so they don't wind up arrested.

Bingo. Most people who use library computers to view porn take pains not to offend others....so they don't wind up arrested.

Do you have any more problems that can be so easily resolved?

It's already resolved where I live--the filters won't LET you visit such sites. Do you have a problem with that solution?

That would seem like a workable solution to me, despite the fact that filters aren't perfect. There are all kinds of places that restrict and/or filter their WiFi. I've been to coffee shops that block Facebook. I'm not sure why that should be a problem.

The problem with the filtering software is that it would probably block information on people who were trying to do research on porn as well.

How many people are doing that at public libraries?

I'm not talking about people who CLAIM to be researching porn, but those who actually are.

Keeping children away from perverts is a far greater good than a few people who "supposedly" need to research porn at the library.
