Default Black men vs. Black women..........different speech patterns

Question: in recent years I have noticed something rather disturbing concerning speech differences between American Black men and women under the age of 40.

It seems more and more that AA females are speaking standard English whereas their male brethren all too often still sound 'uneducated' for want of a better word.

About 15 years ago a Black woman whom I knew spoke standard English to her daughter but 'talked ghetto' to her son------------her actions towards him would have made a Klansman blush. I was flat mortified.

Modern females are better educated in most industrialized countries, plus they are better at language naturally, the majority of translators and even more so interpreters are also women. Being a translator myself, I remember the sex ratio at the University was something like 1:4 or even 1:5 in my field.
Thus I don't think it has much to do with being AA, although maybe the difference is more pronounced there for whatever reason. White parents also tend to talk more rudely to their sons than to their daughters. Maybe daughters are still considered more fragile and delicate etc.

How did the father talk to the son? Or is everything the woman's fault?

Education is a possible factor. AA women usually have more post-secondary education than their AA male counterparts. It is also more "cool" and acceptable for AA males to use "black" english more. This from an insider.

Default Workplace influence

Take a look at where AA women mostly work, and where AA males mostly work.

It's not scientific, nor is a link needed. We all live in the real world.

Who do you mostly see working in the offices, heallth care and service industries and retail environments?

And this influences how people communicate with others.

Oh, god spare us from yet another anecdotal study from the latest amateur anthropologist specializing in African Americans!
