One of them did it in his cell while awaiting a murder trial after he and his partner cut the throats of my cousin , her teenage son, and teenage daughter during a home robbery.
I don't know if he felt bad about the crime or the prospect of spending the rest of his life behind prison walls.

Many of the things that would lead a young White man to the decision kill himself are considered simply a part of the hard knocks of life for many Black people.

The thought of having a loss of societal status, to reduce their standard of living or having to start over and work their way back up is, in their minds, worse than death.

If you tried hard, you might be able to generalize even more.
Blacks resort to crime often because they are poor. Ex. Robbery, car theft. What's the excuse of middle class white peope resorting to suicide? When you commit suicide, you're essentially giving up.
Textbook example of the kind of silly mental gymnastics you get when you start a conversation with a silly premise(ie: there is a causal relationship between ethnicity and suicide).

If you can't see the clear link, then that's your problem.
If White males have a high rate of suicide because of a 'soft life' then other peoples with a 'soft life' should have a comparable rate of suicide. Do wealthy black, Asian and Latino families also show a high rate of suicide?
I think that it is an issue of shame-culture that may be more common in white communities rather than emotional weakness due to having a trust fund.
