Capitalism succeeds, all else fails (except for in the familty unit, where socialism is ok). However, when you move into the adult world, where grown-ups operate, socialism, onramp to communism, has no place (unless you are dealing with a world of children, virtual or otherrwise).

Herre is a comparison of the two systems and is a synoptic view of the two systems.

Capitalism - onramp to prosperity
Socialism - onramp to communism
Communism - onramp to nowhere

Now go out and get rich, be happy and help make the world go round.

OK, maybe that's not the best way of asking it. But to me, I cannot really see the point of working more than the bare minimum for subsistence. . .
Evidently you do, seeing how you have a computer and all. And internet access. And electricity to power it.

Life is limited, there is a finite number of hours to our existence. So why waste hours of your life (hours you can never get back) working for a bunch of useless stuff?

Why not instead live a minimalist existence? Ensure that basic necessities of food, clothing, and shelter are taken care of, and maybe take on more work temporarily if there is some thing that really is that important to you.

After all, 100 years from now, every one of us will likely be no more than a memory. A rotting, decaying corpse planted 6 feet underground, eaten by worms.

Well, that's my morbid thought for the day. Is life really worth anything?
Carry this logic to the end and why not just kill yourself as soon as you are born? I mean, why does anything you ever do matter?

Take it to the next step, why not just commit suicide then? Sounds like you have no dependents?

I work because others rely upon me for food, shelter etc. and my quality of life is enriched by the opportunities that work affords me.

Hey, in a billion years no one will even be here probably and in a couple billion more the sun will swallow us up. It's all good...even my atoms will one day be fused into different atoms but what do I care?

IF I understand correctly, that will even happen during your natural lifetime. Every single atom that is now an organic component in your body will, before you die, have left your body and become fused with different atoms somewhere. Except the fillings in your teeth, the only part of you that will immutably march through time, dragging the captive slow-motion pyrotechnics of your body chemistry in and out of your bed every night as long as you live. Your dental amalgam is the only "real you".

Your post shows how even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

YOU ARE CORRECT, I don't zilch (near zero) about Uganda, and to be honest, I don't care much about it either.

I am glad the dictator is gone, and wish them all the best, over there (capitalism is their only hope), but I don't keep tabs with the affairs of that country.

Do you feel better now?

Well my astronomy professor said all we really need in life is food, shelter, and water and everything else is just stuff. Stuff isnt important. It wont make you a better person or a happy person. Society worships money and stuff. The more stuff you have the more you are seen as being successful, at least according to American society.
