Has anyone here ever heared about the possibility of solar cooling? It sounds very strange - cooling with the heat of the sun, but obviously it works. Air Conditions are one of the major energy consumers in the United States, solar cooling looks like a great idea to reduce their impact on our environment and the energy consumption.

One very promising approach is the absorption heat pump. It has higher investment costs compared to conventional A/Cs, but its operational costs are very low.

What do you think? I would like to see many of this new technology in our houses. Have you tried something compareable? Does it work and saves money?
