I have. Took a train from Richmond VA to New Orleans. Trip should have been about 12 hours, 2 1/2 days later we pulled into the New Orleans train depo. No thanks, never again you can have it.

The train stopped at every small town between Richmond and here to pickup and off load people and never got over 25mph.

we dont need a rail renaissance. thats an extreme abuse of taxpayers. obama is an idiot to think that saying the words "investing in the future" justifies recklessly pissing away taxpayers dollars.

Federal subsidies for the highway system increase our dependence on petroleum. Using a portion of that money to regenerate the rail system and increase travel-ability would be a wise investment of the nation's resources.

whats wrong with petroleum? its cheap energy.

i believe the rail system uses energy also.

i really dont mind developing the rail system, as long as no taxpayer dollars are put into it.

Unfortnatly for you NJ is drawing up plans for another 760 miles of restored Rail....its bi-partisan effort.... Rail , has brought alot of good to this state....less traffic on the Highways and the developments have brought New jobs and Revenue for Towns. The largest Development will add 15,000 jobs over the next decade sounds like a good investment....
