I took the time to read this and it looks to me like these people who are doing the rah-rah and handstands for GMO products have obviously some monetary gain to be made..i.e., stockholders of Monsanto, drug companies..you name it. They are shills for Monsanto.
When nothing intelligent, germain, logical or scientific can be used to refute what has been posted in this thread out it comes...

*** They are shills for Monsanto ***

~ or ~

*** You are a shill of Monsanto ***
I wonder what all the Monsanto shills on the Earth are getting in reparations from Monsanto to defend them because it sure isn't money. I guess they get satisfaction seeing Scientific Technology and Molecular Plant Sciences used to benefit mankind and stop the misery and grief of people seeing their children starve to death...

- 13 million children starve to death each year
- 33% of the world's population is considered to be starving
- the time between deaths of people who die from hunger, 3.6 seconds
- number of people who will die today from hunger, 20,864
- number of American households at risk from hunger, 11%

http://www.statisticbrain.com/world-hunger-statistics/

NOTE: The above statistics are 8 months old and with the increase of plantings of GM crops worldwide hopefully they have decreased....

more GMOs in the news. wouldn't it be wonderful to see the majestic American elm restored?

Quote:
American chestnuts may, however, be about to rise again—thanks to genetic engineering. This month three experimental patches will be planted, under the watchful eye of the Department of Agriculture, in Georgia, New York and Virginia. Along with their normal complements of genes, these trees have been fitted with a handful of others that researchers hope will protect them from the fungus.

The project has been organised by the Forest Health Initiative (FHI), a quango set up to look into the idea of using genetic engineering to rescue species of tree whose populations have been devastated by fungal diseases or insect pests. It has sponsored research at several universities, and this month’s trial is the first big field test. If it works, the FHI will ask the government for permission to plant transgenic chestnuts in the wild, with the intention of re-establishing the species in America’s woodlands. And if that goes well, it could provide a model for projects to re-establish elm trees (being devastated by Dutch elm disease, a beetle-born fungal infection), ash trees (threatened in North America by a beetle called the emerald ash borer, and in Europe by a fungal disease called ash dieback) and a fir tree known, confusingly, as the eastern hemlock (which is plagued by the woolly adelgid, a sap-sucking bug).

Hoping to give new meaning to the term “natural light,” a small group of biotechnology hobbyists and entrepreneurs has started a project to develop plants that glow, potentially leading the way for trees that can replace electric streetlamps and potted flowers luminous enough to read by.
The project, which will use a sophisticated form of genetic engineering called synthetic biology, is attracting attention not only for its audacious goal, but for how it is being carried out.
Rather than being the work of a corporation or an academic laboratory, it will be done by a small group of hobbyist scientists in one of the growing number of communal laboratories springing up around the nation as biotechnology becomes cheap enough to give rise to a do-it-yourself movement.

MARCH AGAINST MONSANTO on May 25th around the world.

March Against Monsanto

"SEATTLE (May 1, 2013) - March Against Monsanto has announced that on May 25, tens of thousands of activists around the world will “March Against Monsanto.” Currently, marches are being planned on six continents, in 33 countries, totaling events in over 250 cities, and in the US, events are slated to occur simultaneously at 11 a.m. Pacific in 47 states.

GMO Free USA | Harnessing education, advocacy, and bold action to foster consumer rejection of genetically modified organisms.

Kellogg contributed almost $800,000 to a deceptive advertising campaign that defeated Prop. 37, which would have required the labeling of genetically engineered foods in California. This company does not support transparency or truth in labeling and has no regard for the health and safety of consumers who buy their products. "

By the way, third world countries have GMO's labeled, why can't we get the same in the US?

Lightbulb Why are GMO's labeled in other countries, but not in the US??? What are they hiding???

Cattle Now Being Fed Cookies and Candies Instead of Real Food
Cattle on a Diet of MSG, High-Fructose Corn Syrup, and GMOs
It is important to understand that almost all corn in the United States is genetically modified. Therefore, the ‘traditional’ factory farm diet of corn or grain is certainly not a safe option. It is, however, arguably better than 100% processed junk food that contains not just genetically modified organisms but ingredients like:

• High-fructose corn syrup
• MSG
• Hydrogenated oils
• Pesticides, herbicides, insecticides
• Acrylamides
• Artificial flavorings
• Artificial colorings
• Artificial sweeteners (like asapartame)

Lightbulb Canada rejected rBGH in their milk even after scientists were bribed by Monsanto!

Why do we have to have this hormone when others have banned it?? It is not healthy to drink this!

And then there's the other Monsanto gift ...rBGH:

Banned in 27 Countries, Monsanto's rBGH In Dairy Products
http://naturalsociety.com/banned-in-...milk-products/

Milk: Over 30 scientific publications have shown increased levels of
IGF-1 in milk with rBGH increases risks of breast cancer by up to
seven-fold, also increasing colon and prostate cancers risks. Canada,
29 European nations, Norway, Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand,
Australia, and South Africa ban U.S. rBGH dairy products. Bill's
USFDA put no restrictions, no warning labels (not allowing labels at
all.
