Thanks for adding to the conversation topaz. I can only assume you will soon explain how you feel the same way about pharmaceuticals, stem cell research, cloning, biomedical engineering,...

I assume also that not being a fan of main-stream science, that you understand completely when people quote scientists who have alternate views of global warming.

<snip>YouTube video regarding UK GM wheat trials</snip>
Publicly-funded, wholly-contained research trials aren't the problem. The problem is that this level of research and testing ISN'T currently being conducted by non-partisan scientists who have no financial/business interest.

This particular GM wheat trial is being conducted by a group with a reasonably good track record of honestly divulging when their research works or doesn't, and for being conscientious about testing protocols and willing to allow 3rd-party retesting if concerns are raised or verification is needed. I think it would be wrong to ban controlled clinical trials and I would be very interested in seeing their research findings (assuming they don't get paid off or gagged like other similar non-partisan researchers).

that 'study' was embarassingly poorly done by a group with a known agenda.

So what you are saying is if this group determines it doesn't work they are honest but if it does work they are paid shills of the GM industry....

Gotcha
