Why do you keep poisonous substances in your home?
Every product that you think needs to be synthetic chemical-based can be made with safe natural ingredients.

Even pest control can be done with products that are not harmful to dogs

You outfit your house the same way you would for a baby, it'll cost 1/4 as much as buying safe natural ingredients.

We don't have a lot of things in our house that our 2 dogs would get into, or could get into. Anything I'm concerned about is set high enough they can't get to it, or behind cabinet doors.

Big George, I was thinking about the cabinets also. Thought that would be common sense.

I think it's good to remember that dogs are great sniffers. If something smelled like rotten meat, they'd tear the cabinet door off to get to it. But they're not drawn to the smell of things like Windex. Our Corgi would likely destroy a bottle of it just out of curiosity & boredom, but it isn't something he'd go after if he didn't see it.

I'm confused OP, do you mean in the home, or outside the home? In the home is easy - childproof things if you're really that concerned about it. Outside the home would be easier as dogs at worse would usually stay away from things that are poisonous to them. At worse they'd take a little bite, get sick, and usually avoid it from then on.

If you have a dog dumb enough to keep getting into poisonous things, then you can really worry about it. But most will do it once if at all.
