I don't believe that we can change anything by stopping use of energy, sitting in the dark, and freezing, or dripping sweat depending on what climate others have. So in protest, my lights and appliances will be on.
I intend to leave my diesel truck running in the driveway all day!
I would hope that earth hour would cause some to change their habits. I have seen lights on at unoccupied office buildings, schools and many other places. Every hour should be earth hour and the unneeded lights should be off.
We just implemented new policy at our office, and at the very least if people don't care about the environment, they should do it to save money.
