Audi has successfully made diesel fuel from carbon dioxide and water - ScienceAlert

If this is true - this could end up being a completely new revolution for diesel motors. I am a diesel head - and I like the new cleaner diesels, but they are so complex. Being able to go back to a simpler engine design without having to burn off soot from a soot trap and pump ureau in to the exhaust stream to get rid of NOX would be great.

In addition, this is not dino based fuel - so no fracking, drilling, pumping involved.

We will see if it lives up to its promise or not. I am guarded and skeptical - but also hopeful.
