A Spanish company called Vortex Bladeless has come up with bladeless wind turbine technology that seeks to provide more energy for less, and address the criticisms aimed at traditional wind farms - particularly where wildlife is concerned.

And so how are you going to stop the ever increasing oscillations in high winds? I predict this is another idea destined for failure.

Eventually, one of these ideas will stick... at least I hope so.

From what I understand people/companies have been kicking this idea around for the past 30-40 years. I don't really know what makes this company's attempts different from the current and past attempts by others, if there is any difference, but it could possibly be because they had included [heavy] magnetic rings at the bottom, which makes the poles bottom heavy, and that may add stability of the poles in higher wind speeds (I believe at one point they had the rings higher up the poles and had failure with that). This company is still in the testing phase and apparently will continue to be testing until sometime next year (per their projections). It does appear that they are withholding information regarding the specs, etc., when they talk to the public, the media, symposiums, etc. I don't blame them since there are other companies that are currently trying to create a similar product.
