Can I neutralize acidic waste with some alkaline liquids in order to pour them safely down a lab drain?

Follow the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) instructions regarding disposal.

If you do not have this information, contact the manufacturer. The MSDS sheets are free and they send them out as PDFs.

Once you have that information, contact your local waste-water folks, and they can guide you on whether their system can handle it.
