The Lexus LS600H, which costs £84,000, was a gift from Lexus to the 65-year-old former Beatle, who helped promote the hybrid vehicle.

But instead of arriving by boat as expected, the car was flown to Britain on a Korean Air flight, creating a carbon footprint almost 100 times bigger than if it had come by sea.

His ex-wife is trying to be more environmentally friendly as well.

She traded in her lead foot for a bamboo one

Interesting...

It's kind of silly really... ships are terrible for the environment also (has anyone ever seen the Long Beach Harbor w/ the cargo ships - seriously polluted, it's disgusting).

I'm fairly certain that Paul McCartney was only "horrified" because the press brought it to his attention.

I love it. This is hilarious, and is so typical of many ( not all ) left extremists who are crying the sky is falling.

My in-law - ultra "green" and always talking about carbon footprint, owns a large luxury car and a mini-van both with leather seats (cloth were too cheap looking). She has a 36 x 20 indoor heated pool and just added 1000 sq ft to her house. Yet she complains about how people waste energy and resources.

I can deal with people that promote others be carefull about their footprints as long as they practice what they preach.

I know what you mean. My "green" roommate takes about 20 trips by plane each year and, as a result, has a carbon foot print nearly 2x the average American yet still complains about people who dont recycle.

Coo Coo Ca Choo - it's tough being green The green-est thing he could do is to sell it for scrap to reduce its carbon boot print.

Paul McCartney is in the UK, right? He should have rejected the offer from Japan -- halfway around the globe -- and pursued neighboring Norway for a copy of The Buddy.
