This is a pretty good overview of the costs associated with the draconian measures being considered.

The disturbing part is that the money becomes part of an income redistribution scheme when you get into the detail. In other words, there is funding for poor people. Why? It is the same as the tobacco settlement monies which are redirected to all kinds of non tobacco related social programs.

As people are educated as to the economic effects of such legislation, the groundswell will be similar to what got the legislators attention on illegal immigration.

I am all for moving toward a green living, but the cap and trade is one of the biggest frauds perpetrated on the American people.

It will add a minimum of 1.50 to each gallon of gas right off the bat. and cause small companies to hurt worse than they are now with high taxes

The cap and trade has always been a corporation scam... they pollute more = they raise the prices YOU pay so they can pollute more by buying credits from other companies with YOUR money.... the companies that pollute less (and have ALWAYS polluted less makes no changes) = does not change ANY price because they sell it to companies that pollute more to make even more money... in the end, companies that pollute more make lots more money and companies that pollute less make lots of more money as well... companies making more money means investors like Al Gore stand to make billions of dollars... all these people making money means SOMEBODY is losing lots of money for NOTHING (other than MORE pollution)... that person is the American consumer...i.e. YOU... such a poorly developed scam... if you add in the clause "credits bought to pollute more CANNOT be charged back to the consumer in any way, are NOT tax deductible, and cannot be used to factor in costs of services" and you will see the Cap and Trade... DIE immediately... its a scam and a poorly done scam at that...

It a cash grab by the governmant because they know they have flunked the energy test and we will not be providing much of or own i the near future. When shoretages and lines come they will be out of office.Its the carbon credit that loets the rich continue to use massive amounts of energy while play the concervatrion game. Al Gore;john edwards with his 1200 dollar a month electric bill at his second home. It lets the elite off the hook. Heck of a way to show leadership by these frauds.
