Proven fact?
I hear that global warming isn't a proven fact, but we all know climate change is real.
Has it been proven that the emission of carbon leads to climate change or is that just the most likely contributor?

The most likely contributor is the fact that climate changes and always have. Carbon emissions are no doubt ONE contributor, but given that climate has changed drastically for pretty much the entire life of the planet, it can hardly be called the MOST likely contributor.

So is there any point to "green living" then aside from saving money?

I think the vast majority of scientists believe that climate change is real, and that human actions are the major contributor to it.....
And that some of the scientists who dispute it just happen to be on the payroll of oil companies, for example.

Often green living costs more, especially in the beginning.
Green living seeks to solve the problems caused by a rapidly growing population and increasing demands on finite resources.
Have you ever read "Tragedy of the Commons" by Garrett Hardin? The Tragedy of the Commons by Garrett Hardin - The Garrett Hardin Society - Articles
This may help to explain what some of us are concerned about. This topic deserves a thread of its own, but I thought your question was a reasonable one.

No scientist here, but I understand that "global warming" is a proven fact, and is a natural occurence. I think the answer to your questions is, "more likely than not." To me that's like saying, if you jump off the Brookyn Bridge, more likely than not, you'll get wet.
I think the problem is because we have artificially accelerated global warming to an extreme degree.
Climate change is real, and natural. But not at the extreme degree at which it is now occuring. Since scientists have been recording this information, the rate at which changes have been happening has dramatically increased within the last century. Our climate is changing (warming) at a rate never before recorded.
For instance: During the 20th Century sea levels rose by .067 inches; since 1993 alone, sea levels have risen by .118 inches PER YEAR.
Eleven of the twelve hottest years so far recorded have taken place since 1995.
Since 1900, the earth's surface temperature has risen over 33.3 d F.
Virtually all of these occurences are caused by human activities: deforestation, burning of fossil fuels, release of excess carbon into the air.
I understand that the general not-for-profit scientific consensus is, that we cannot stop it, but we may be able to change or mitigate its end results.
That alone, is worth trying to live green, if we can.
There are some people who actually believe that this is all "socialist" bunk. And if we can't see the effects in our own back yards, it's not happening at all. Their ancestors probably believed the world was flat, too.

Pretty much everybody's ancestors believed the world was flat at one time.
I don't think it's all "bunk", but I do think there's a fair amount of bunk about it out there from both sides. Much like anything else, it has its extremists, on both sides, who ignore all but what supports their own pet theory. It's not all black and white, black hats and white hats, good guys and bad guys, however much that feeds into our desire for certainty.

there has been no recorded warming in the last 5 years.

could you show me proof or at least your source of information scientificly proven for this statement? Or
for that matter sources for all your statistics.
alot of what was touted as scientific fact has in fact been debunked. science has been flawed , seriously flawed by some and maybe on purpose.
