Compressed Earth Blocks seem to be the answer to many problems, why aren't more homes in the western world built with them?

price, strength, durability, water resistant, pest resistant, ease of use. do these blocks have any flaws?

I have heard that you either have to be poor and have the time to make and build yourself with CEB (adobe) block or rich enough to pay someone else to do the work. The machine and materials are cheap but very labor intensive.

I hope to buy and rebuild an adobe house after I retire.
