Good news. Brita never had a recycling program in this country until now. Check out this website. Not only can you drop off used filters, but they ar recycled into toothbrushes, disposable razors and kitchenware. You can even send your used toothbrushes and disposable razors back to them and they are recycycled again. You need to purchase the "Preserve" brand which is #5 plastic. They have partnered with other companies to recycle empty containers.
