i am just a humble dirt farmer, so bear with me....
right now, whole corn and soybeans are used as feed. if you take out the oil, it seems like what is left would have much less feed value, especially after the processes used to extract the oil. and the slack would have to be taken up by feeding them something else which would have to be grown also.
i'd still like to see some figures on how many acres of ground it would take to raise enough oil to replace even one day of our consumption. and, crops are only harvested once a year...while the oil tankers flow into the ports daily. so, we would have to multiply those acres by 365.
