Absolutely! Of course, we only ever had a few meat type goats over the years... dairy goats don't make good eatin.

I defer to your experience, then. The only goat I have ever eaten was actually to destroy evidence. I took a guest quail hunting on a lease around Uvalde, TX a number of years ago. He inadvertently shot a goat and actually cried out of embarrassment and shame. It was probably a 6 month old kid or so. We dressed it and made a lump-meat chili. Absolutely delicious.
