Vacations will be next on my list. I am also looking for specials for homeowners, and more for car maintenance. I will be posting later.

The last week in July and the middle of August I will not be posting. As I will be taking several short vacations. If all goes as plans.

Tip: Donot wait until winter to service your central heating system. Have it checked in August this way it will be ready for winter. Clean your fireplace and make sure they are safe to use. Seal air leaks all around the house. This saves on both your cooling and heating bill. Purchase extra blankets. Use the power of the sun on its hottest winter days. Have your car service. Buy safe electric heaters with a protective shield. Look for those that automatic shut off if they are knocked over. Just because it says automatic does not mean to allow it to turn off automatically. You must still monitor this heat source. Set your home in the summer to 75 degrees. Winter 70 degrees during the night and 70 during the day if you have children. If single or empty nester's set it to 68 degrees at night.

End of Summer Vacations

There are many more hot days ahead. So why not end the summer with a bang! You are thinking I am low on cash. Do not fear. I am going to list low cost summer fun that will not break the bank.

Picnics

Another great way to bring family and friends together. Shop biglots for picnic baskets. You can find plastic glassware and dishes at biglots or other stores in your area. Need something to cover the ground where you sit. How about turning that old blanket into a ground cover. Are you an expert seamstress or have a creative nature? Look around your house you may find something that can be made into a picnic blanket. Just called Big Lots and Pier One Imports and neither have picnic baskets. Go to Walmart and look for a soft sided cooler or a cooler where you can carry your food in.

Items needed for the perfect picnic:

Plan the Perfect Picnic!
