what are the requirements to give road test in north carolina state, i am new to this country n dont have my indian license with me. i went to dmv office few days before in a car driving school car, passed the written test n asked if i can give my road test on driving school car, which most foreigners do in this country but to my surprise they asked for non-owner's policy insurance to use that car. i have no idea about this n also the american instructor who came with me said that the officer is just crazy. please give me information about how to get a non-owner's insurance or is there any way i can give the road test without taking it,any help is really appreciated, im desperate to get it done, facing lots of problems to commute daily to my office.

Here is the DMV's website

Quote:
3. Proof of Liability Insurance:

Proof of liability insurance includes providing insurance documents such as:

DMV form DL-123;
or an original liability insurance policy binder;
or an insurance card with: your name, policy number, issue and expiration date.
The liability insurance documents must show your name, the effective date of policy, the expiration date of the policy, and the date the policy was issued.

Even if you do not own or drive a currently registered vehicle you may still apply for a license, but a restriction will be placed on your driver's license. This restriction limits you to only driving "fleet vehicles" and costs $10.00 when you are ready to remove it from your license.
