We may stop in Greensboro for a day of fun on our way to NJ. I have two teens that would like to do something fun, but my daughter tends to get headaches going on rides and such. Is there something else that would be fun to do for the day?

Maybe Celebration Station. I went there once years ago. At that time (and perhaps still) there were video games, putt-putt, bumper boats and, I think, go carts.

There's also Grand Prix go cart racing.

And, of course, shopping at Friendly Center and Four Seasons Mall. Most teen girls love to shop. lol

I can't think of anything else. Sorry.

Default there's not much

i'm a teen and there's not really that much to do in greensboro...besides shopping i can't think of any reason why anyone would go to greensboro for fun...it's just like any other place..with cinemas and malls...

Default Not Wet'n'Wild

It wouldn't be a whole day activity, but you may enjoy strolling Elm Street in downtown Greensboro. There is a new park with a fountain that squirts over a walkway; it's fun to walk through and get wet. There's a green space to play frisbee or just hang out and people watch in an urban area. If you walk south down Elm Street, there's lots of places to grab a bite to eat or an ice cream. There's your standard Chik-Fil-A, but also a diner that teens like called Fincastle's. There's also a nice coffee shop called the Greenbean with free Wi-Fi and a quarter-operated pool table. The crowd is a mix of professionals, teens, and college students. There's a shop called Cheesecakes by Alex that offers a fun summer treat, frozen cheesecake on a stick. There are a number of parking garages in the downtown area, as well as meter parking on the street.

If you want a more active stop, Bur-Mil Park in northwest Greensboro has a public pool ($), picnic areas, fishing dock, a scenic lake (no beach/swimming), a golf area, and a really neat bike program. You can go to the office at the park and check out a free bike and helmet that you can use to explore the paved paths in the park. Bur-Mil park is on Battleground Avenue and is part of Greensboro Parks and Rec. South of the park, on Battleground, there are plenty of chain restaurants type places for lunch.

There is a BOUNCE-U franchise at Quaker Village Shopping Area near Guilford College on Friendly Avenue. It may be geared to the younger set, but many middle school aged kids like it, especially on a hot day. There is also a Digital Lifestyle video game place there, Starbucks, Boston Market,
and a make your own pottery place. Standard stuff.

There's also an ice skating rink in town, but I don't know much about it.

I hope you enjoy your trip!
