I am taking someone out for their birthday and I was hoping someone could suggest a nice place to eat in the Greensboro area. We've exhausted all options in Winston-Salem lol. We've been to Leblon (Brazilian steakhouse) and really enjoyed it. I've heard the Melting Pot is nice but I don't know if the menu is something we'd enjoy although we're certainly up for trying something new and different. Doesn't have to be somewhere fancy or expensive, just some place nice and different than the run of the mill Applebees, Chilis, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I'd say Gate City Chophouse or Village Tavern, but you haven't mentioned if you've already considered them.

I've had Village Tavern (in Winston) but not the chophouse. I've heard good things about it though.

I love Village Tavern but isn't a restaurant that is local to Greensboro. its a chain restaurant but each one I have seen has their own unique architecture. The one in South Park, Charlotte is classy.

There is also where your at in Winston Salem by Hanes Mall near Strafford. Its cute it does look like a Tavern.

It is, however, a LOCAL chain.
There are two locations in Winston, including the first, located at Reynolda VILLAGE (hence the name).

There are several places in Friendly Center that would be nice for a birthday: Harpers and Flemings Steakhouse.

And, across the street there is a little more up-scale restaurant in the O.Henry Hotel -- The Green Valley Grille.
