"Country Stores"
I know this is probably an odd question, but in Florida, where I used to live, and other states (mostly up North) that I have visted they have Country Stores. Quaint shops that sell country items like quilts and dishes and furniture that are associated with country living. I have always loved shopping in them and was wondering if there are any in the Triad area. I am in the Burlington area but we haven't found any yet. We are still new to the area and are still exploring the beautiful place but it would help to have an idea where I could find such a store.
Thanks for any help.

Have you tried Cracker Barrel? They have cute stuff. Most of it is country. I'm sorry I don't know of any non-chain places.

This site listed below is directory of local products Im not sure if you will find specifically what you are looking for but it a start. Find a local establishment and visit it and ask the locals you probably will need to concentrate on smaller towns like Graham, Gibsonville, Altamahaw-Ossipee, and Green Level.

Niki, I must have had my head in my packing boxes too long. I love Cracker Barrell and have found wonderful things there through the years. But I have found individual stores in different areas that carry similar things unique to the area they are in. I know that eventually I will run across one.
Thanks everyone and I will check out the links you posted. You've been a big help.

There are some interesting places around that probably don't fall into the "country store" category as we understand the concept up North.
There are several cool shops in the old downtown part of Mebane -- including Solgarden and Market on Clay that have some local products.
There are other places if you're looking more for practical vs. "gifty."
Downtown Saxapahaw has a neat farmer's market on Saturday where there are a decent number of vendors around plus live music.

There are a couple of Amish stores along U.S. 421 in Yadkin County, near Winston-Salem that I have visited...they were really cool. The Shiloh General Store is one of them...I can't recall any other names. There is an Amish community in the area - I've seen people in horse-and-buggy on the roads.
Country stores are pretty common around areas like Wilkes, Yadkin, Stokes, and Surry County - in the country. In Elkin there is one called the Chatham Country Store...but they are scattered around the area.
