Our family may be relocating to the W-S area in July (from Illinois) due to a job transfer. We have an 8 year old daughter who currently attends a wonderful, small Catholic grade school. She has 15 kids in her class. Can anyone provide information on the Catholic school options in the W-S area? Size? Reputation?

That being said, are any of these Catholic schools close to a "kid-friendly" subdivision? I have read a lot of positive things about Kernersville, and understand there is a high school (but no grade school) there. Don't mind a short commute to school, but not wanting to drive too far. Looking for homes under $275,000. Not sure if I should be looking in Kernersville, Clemmons or W-S? I have read great things about all three on this site. Any recommendations/insight would be welcomed!

Thanks for your help!

There are two K-8 Catholic schools in Winston-Salem, Our Lady of Mercy and St. Leo.

You can get more information on them by calling the diocese. Here is their schools info online: Our Schools (http://www.charlottediocese.org/ourschools.html - broken link)

I am not overly familiar with Winston-Salem but do know one of the most popular neighborhoods for families is Sherwood Forest. Homes there range from your price point and up.
