I'm currently employed in California teaching. Tired of political climate. Looking to move elsewhere. I know teaching jobs are tough everywhere. I have sixteen years experience and love it. Is there an area/local that might be more prone to needing an experienced, good teacher?
Thanks do much if you respond.

Well, there's a lot of debate going on right now regarding the new state budget. Will it or will it not cost more teaching positions, you may want to follow that. I'm not in the school system, but my wife is. She's not a teacher, but was thinking of going part time next year, her boss told her she wouldn't have a position if she did, so just stay fulltime. I can only imagine that it would be pretty difficult to jump right into a position. I've known several people who moved here after college with just a year or two experience teaching and couldn't even get an interview. And that was before all the cuts. If you do make the move, you will certainly want to have a position lined up before you jump, where ever that may be.

Not sure of the need at certain schools. However, Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools system in a go one. You may want to search the many private schools in the area. Forsyth Country Day is a good one.
