Default New to the Winston-Salem area

Would anyone offer advise about where to live. I'll be working in the 200 block of north main and would like something within a reasonable commute (20 minutes), but my family will be joining me after Christmas and I need to consider school for my daughter (13 years old).

Any suggestions and/or advise would be appreciated.

Mark

I live in Clemmons, which is a great area. Since your daughter is 13, I would look in the Reagan High School District (Lewisville or Pfafftown). It is a new high school (this is the 3rd year) & the principal is great! I will have 2 daughters there this year. We are actually in the West Forsyth HS district, but applied for a transfer the first year when my oldest was a freshman. We thought it would be a fantastic opportunity for her to go to a brand new high school & we had heard nothing but good about the principal, Stan Elrod (formerly at Reynolds). He had the opportunity to recruit the best teachers from Forsyth Co. the first year, and it has only improved. Let me know if you need any help. I can send you an invite to the local MLS to assist you in your search if you like.

Also, I'm sure your daughter is probably in Middle School this year, and Meadowlark Middle & Jefferson Middle are both good schools in the Reagan district.

try the West End area (near Hanes Park) for studios and one bedroom deals. (probably within a 15 minute bike ride from where you'll be working)
