We want to relocate to Winston-Salem, NC or one of the surrounding towns close by. We need a 1 or 2 bedroom for 2 related adults. Our income is low so we need the rental to be around $350 (less is better). Also a low, or no, deposit, no application fee unless it's low and you can add it to the deposit and no income requirements. Am I dreaming or is there a nice landlord out there who could please help me and my mom out? We would like to rent the unit on, or about, Sept 2nd. We are relocating from VA and need to avoid motel costs.

For that price, and the specifics you need, it may be hard to to find a decent apartment in a decent area. Try Baldwin properties. They have apartments all over town and I'm sure they'll be able to help. However, I cannot guarantee that you will have the best neighbors. You may be able to get lucky, though. I remember a place where I used to live 5 years ago. It's called Bethabara Garden Apartments near North Point Blvd, right behind Industries for the Blind. A lot of visually impaired people lived here, and they were wonderful neighbors. Also, the manager at that time was very nice, but very strict as well. He followed the apartment rules by the book and that was a good thing that took care of lousy neighbors. Google Bethabara Garden and check current reviews. It was a decent place back then, and I paid $375 for a one bedroom apartment. I don't know about the current situation, though.

Good luck.

I will say spot on with Baldwin and you can even try Home Real Estate. I would say they are about the top top slumlords around.

If your Mother is a senior (62+) needing assistance for activities of daily living, based on income, she may qualify for a HUD subsidized senior housing apartment. One good option in a lovely location is Country Village. I don't know much about their policies for a younger person living there also. But it might be worth a look. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Count...229243?sk=info
