Sunny, the news is even better for Winston-Salem, where the jobs will be located. Winston-Salem, not Greensboro, is the birthplace of modern aviation in North Carolina, and has more to do with this "aerotropolis" thing that Greensboro seems to be promoting for itself. Winston-Salem was the home to North Carolina's first airstrip (Maynard Field), birthplace of the state's only major airline (Piedmont), and was making airplane seats (BE Areospace) before anyone had even heard of TIMCO. So much for 'Triadism'....what one births and nurtures, the other loves to take away.

Default aerotropolis

While I agree with many of the points the wsnc62 posted. Fact is Greensboro did do a better job of becoming a better choice for a lot things. By purchasing land that gave them room to expand. Made them a better choice for airmail service, the military (which expanded the runways). Which lead to a better place to land larger planes. With better sight lines. Smith-Reynolds had their share. But the location and growth around the airport has made it a very undesirable choice. But, we still got some jobs.
