It's that time of year for me to assess the cream colored carpeting in my small townhome - it's basically just regular dirt that's been tracked in, and pet/cat dander that I need attention for - thus, I've been trying to research the newer dry cleaning methods I've read about in carpet cleaning, but get conflicting viewpoints on whether it really works overall....of course, I would prefer something more all natural for my pet's sake, etc., but for me the bottom line is efficiency, durablity, and cost.

Thoughts at all? I live in W-S in a 2 bedroom single floor flat...thanks everyone!

I recommend a professional service. The dry method does clean. But, it will leave residue. and the wet method will leave moisture. Which might lead to mold. I have found that they have the correct equipment from the job. The homeowner and rental types just do not have the power and the person doing the job does not have the experience.

Thank you for your comments - yes, it would seem like the old fashioned "original" style of carpet cleaning with a professional would be best - do you have any experiences with any particular companies in the Triad area?

Thanks again!

We recently had our cream colored carpet, and tan couches cleaned before the birth of our baby. We used Zimmerman (www.zimmermancarpetcleaners.com) and they did an outstanding job. We have 8 cats and a 5 year old, so as you can imagine our 7 year old carpet was a mess. I couldn't have been more satisfied. It was pricey, but in line with the costs we were quoted by other companies.
