Default Soul Food restaurants

Just moved to the area this past Sunday. Are there any good Soul Food restaurants in Winston-Salem or Greensboro? Thank you. Looking for good fried chicken, mac & cheese, good vegetables...etc

Clemmons offers a lot of good restaurants for its size. While there's not really a "soul food" place here, you'll find several good "homestyle" choices without having to drive all the way in to Winston-Salem. Try Pete's Family Restaurant for their tremendous variety in a diner-type setting (everything from seafood to souvlaki to sandwiches to Italian and more, and it's all good). Their vegetables are impressive. We also have Clemmons Kitchen, which I don't think is quite as good as Pete's but it's well worth a visit, especially for breakfast. Little Richard's Barbecue, known far and wide for the pork, also offers a wide variety of southern favorites like bbq chicken, ribs, burgers/dogs, and sides like turnip greens, fried okra, pinto beans, etc. There's also a Cracker Barrel and a K&W express cafeteria, both chains of course but the food isn't bad.

Edit to add: Oh, and how could I forget Ronni's Wings??? Don't mind the ratty-looking building or the 70's era wall paneling, just go there!

We moved up here to Greensboro from Charlotte 5 years ago: Welcome!! My wife and I used to eat at a place called M&M soulfood in Eastland Mall. Guess what: They moved up here!! They are located on East Market Street across from A&T and the food is still good!

Love Summit cafe! Stop there every morning for coffee and the chicken wings are the best in the city. They have changed their name to Montgomery.s at 621!
