Last year we had a snowy winter, even a white Christmas. Last year , same as this year the farmer's almanac predicts a mild winter with less precipitation than usual. Woolly worm (if you believe in nature's signs)says the first part & last part of winter will be cold & wet(snowy or otherwise) Charlotte weather station said squirrels are stockpiling acorns which indicates cold weather coming.Anyone want to predict what is in store? I say 2 snows with measurable amounts to total 4-5 inchesin Greensboro maybe more in Raleigh . I think we are going to have a very cold Christmas , just not sure it will be white like last year.

Since we are in that cycle it will be hard to say for certain. Typically about every decade we have a couple of harsh winters, by our standards, then things return to normal.
Me? I'll predict mild with light measurable snow (1-3") once or twice late Jan to early Feb.

I have $10.00 on 26 inches. One event (within 24 hours). No date. Odds are 6.73 million to one and I bought a lottery ticket.
