A new 3-story, 5 building upscale apartment complex broke ground yesterday on the old Chevrolet site near the ballpark. The project will include a salt water pool, rooftop terrace, Yoga Studio, sports bar and fitness center. The project will be complete this summer and will be located across the street from the future downtown full service grocery store. The complex will be called The Greenway at Fisher Park Apartments and will have 196 units. The apartment complex will also be located on the route of the downtown greenway loop.

But this is only the beginning. A future phase which could emerge in two years would include redeveloping land that sits right next to the ballpark and could include more apartments and retail. A mid-rise or high-rise building overlooking the ballpark could be a part of that project.

The more residential that gets built, the more likely this will happen.

Deep Roots Market is eventually moving from Spring Garden Street to North Eugene Street near NewBridge Bank Park. Its new space will be three times larger than its current location.

Ah, had wondered what the status on this was, there was talk then it seemed to fizzle.
