Hi. We're planning to move to NC in 2 months or so, I'm just wondering which area/town would be best for family. Parks, schools close by. Safe with employment opportunities. We have 2 young girls, Any information will help.

Which towns to stay away from? Currently looking in Winston Salem, but it seems very city like compared to what we're used to, maybe something low key?

1. Where in New jersey have you lived, that Winston Salem seems too urban?

2. What kind of job experience do you have, and what jobs are you looking for?

It is most advisable to line up employment (for at least one of you) BEFORE moving, and tha will take care of your "where to live?" question NC is something like 7th in the US in Unemployment right now, at least partially due to so many people moving here without jobs, flooding the market.

You should at least specify in what industry you are looking for "employment opportunities", since different areas have more jobs in different fields. It's a large and diverse state.

I'm guessing OP is from southern NJ, if W-S seems too urban - since NJ has the densest population in the U.S. (we loved saying that growing up in NY).

And OP - hope you end up down here. But I definitely suggest finding work first as Francois stated.
