We MAY be relocating from So FL to Winston Salem (husband still going through interview process) And here they have a VPK program to prepare the 4 yrs old for kindergarten, it is free and your 4 yr. old goes to school from 9-12/ 5 days a week. Does NC have a similar program? TIA

No, we don't have that here.
The only thing we have is Head Start which is income based. The last thing I heard was even if you qualify, there are no spots to put children. There are over 70 kids in Forsyth Co alone on the wait list. The kids that are getting accepted are very behind or have delays or speech problems.
A lot of churches offer PreK programs or the Kindergarten readiness step. It's the same schedule and low in cost.
