You might consider living near UNC School of the Arts. It too is in Winston-Salem and I daresay it is a bit more "liberal" than Wake Forest.

Oh, never heard of K-Vegas, but down east, we all know that G-Vegas is Greenville.

I was just about ROFLMAO when I moved to Greenville and heard that the first time. I took it to mean that it was the center for activities in the eastern part of the state, mostly due to ECU's presence. But K-Vegas is just plain silly. Perhaps any town ending in "ville" will be called "-Vegas" by some.

another few miles on 421 won't add to that appreciably.

Start with the area between Wake Medical and Forsyth General.
True, it isn't that much further (10 more mintues), but I have to be at work at 7, and coming straight out of college, anything before 9:00 a.m. is early!!

Anyway, after driving around for a few days, it looks like I'm going to go with Greensboro, right off Friendly Ave. Only a minute away from the highway. Only 15 minutes away from my job K-ville, 20-something minutes from W-S. Seems to be a real nice area too and a good location for what I'm looking for. Any thoughts? I'm going to look around a little bit more today in W-S and Greensboro, but unless I find something real good, it looks like West Friendly is going to be my new location

And I appreciate the Vegas conversation! Very amusing haha

That is an understatement. When I applied to Wake ages and ages ago they pretty much said if you are liberal, don't bother since the population at the school is ultra-conservative. That may have changed, but the county is known as liberal when it comes to basics in politics, but Southernly conservative in regards to tradition if that makes sense.
