I am planning to move to North Carolina and cannot decide where to move between Winston Salem or Greensboro N.C. I am looking for good schools for my kids, safe neighborhood, close to supermarkets and shopping centers. Can anyone let me know?

I ended up going with UNCG mainly for costs reasons (I could afford a reasonable apartment in Wilmington but i'd have little money to do anything else/enjoy the area), the fact that they are solid all around (some areas better than UNCW, some areas not quite as good), and the fact that I like Greensboros 'larger city' (larger at least compared to where I live) appeal to it as its something I havent been around being from Burlington Nothing against people in Burlington but I cant stand the slow pace of the place. Currently ill be commuting from Burlington to Greensboro but I hope to find a decent apartment at some point soon, i've found a few off-campus housing student apartments I like, but the on campus housing didn't appeal to me as i'm slightly older than most college at 25 students and dont know how i'd enjoy the constant noise that would come with an on campus situation.

Wilmington I kind of see as a place that would be nice to vacation but I dont know yet if living there all the time would be for me, if anything its a place i'd consider moving to after I finished school and had a stable career.

Please start a separate thread for yourself. Your question is buried in one about a college student.
