So being from Martinsvlle, VA, you kind of get the best of both worlds. I can listen and watch stations from the Triad area as well as Roanoke, VA. Anyways, for the past few years, I've been waking up to the Murphy In The Morning Show on 107.5 WKZL, and discovered this week that KZL fired Jack Murphy. He has been a radio legend in the triad area for over 20 years! I remember listening to him while I was still in high school! The morning show just isn't the same now! =( Do you guys think this is a bad move for local radio to have a legend like Jack Murphy fired?

Very bad move. He had more fans than foes.

I will miss him.

I agree! As much as I like Jared and Katie, I just don't think they're going to be strong enough to keep the ratings up. Maybe if they brought Josh In The Box back?

Morning radio shows are boorish, I won't turn on the radio until 10 am, if that happens.

I like listening to a good morning show that can get me laughing early in the morning. It seems to set how the day is going to go for me if I can laugh first thing in the morning. Music just kind of annoys me when I first wake up in the morning.

It's happened at least 3 times before. They always bring him back.

Brad and Britt was a pretty good one, but that got moved to the afternoons with their station failing.

I know they suspended the whole morning crew a few years ago, but didn't fire any of them. When did they fire Murphy before?

I had listened to them a bit one morning when Murphy in the Morning was doing taped segments, and the did seem to have a pretty good morning show. I really liked that station and a lot of people were upset when it bottomed out.
