hi there! We will be celebrating 10yr in Nov. and we are looking into some suggestions on things to do. we are new to W-S, almost 2 months. And we are very happy here, we do miss stuff from FL, but are happy with the new changes.

So I am trying to plan an anniversary weekend. We will be in Charlotte to drop of the kids to my parents so we plan to spend Friday there....any thoughts (??) we were looking at the zip lining there cause we have never done that and want to have an adventurous/romantic weekend (LOL) Not sure if it will be open in NOV. any ideas. Or we can do dinner we love all things ethnic...always want to try different spots doesnt' need to be a black tie affair but something different and fun.
A friend also suggested Raffaldini (sp) vineyard...which is gorgeous from what we can tell on line. For me it is a def. place i want us to visit...then thinking of a day in the mountains (??) I know I am all over the place, but from what I am googling it doesn't look like they are too long of a drive. We are planning for Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Monday we pick up the kiddies.

Any and all input would be appreciate. I love the fall and and cant' wait to see all the foliage, and would like to do stuff that we have never done, and ofcourse enjoy time together. TIA!!

I'm sure the Blue Ridge Mountains are what people are referring to if they're talking about 2 hrs from the Triad.

We're new to the area also (moved here summer 2011), so I don't have many suggestions, sorry.

We're heading to the Greystone Inn for our 13th anniversary in early October. Having someone watch our daughter - first time we've spent 2 days without her in about 10 years. It's pricey, but we were looking at flying somewhere for a quick getaway, so this is still less expensive than other options I was considering. And it was a deal through Groupon, making it a bit less expensive (but still the most per night I've ever paid for a room).
