Lexinton is roughly 20 miles south of Winston Salem. Just begining to grow. Home to the Lexington BBQ. Used to have some furniture industries...all of them closed now. Begining to see Childress vineyards grow there. 50 min away from Charlotte.

Default Move to Winston Salem

Just read this thread of information about the Winston Salem area and got interested as our family is looking to move there next year. Husband is retiring and I will be returning to school. I have 12 and 14 year old girls. Looking for excellent, high academically inclined schools; looking to find a nice "friendly" neighborhood-new would be great with no less than .5 acres.
Also, does anyone have any insight of Salem Academy for girls....very interested.

Very nice school from what I understand. Abe Lincoln's wife attended the university I think.

Thank you everyone for your information. My husband and I are looking to move to the clemmons area next month. Does anyone know about any areas that are "getto" or not so good for kids. We are from a very small town and even Clemmons is big for us. It is a little intimatating, but I think we will be fine, but any advice would be wonderfull!

I love this site!!!
I was here looking and having the hardest time till I found a guy on here who helped me connect with a local relocation service here in this area of Winston and Clemmons. After months on back and forth I got up with them and in just two days I have found our new home in Clemmons. I would like to thank this site and nyyaninnc.

Keith showed me a little two block neighborhood in Clemmons which he called little Mexico but he said the people were very nice but was as close to urban life that I would find in the town. Clemmons is the perfect town and I know my family and I will be extremely happy there for years to come.

I'm so happy and proud to say that I'm now a citizen of Clemmons...

Everybody that helped thank you again.

God bless.

Would be interested to know who this guy was and with what relocation service as I'm not getting much help at all with my search.
