I was in Greensboro last weekend looking for an place to live, because I'm relocating from St. Petersburg, FL for a work opp. I looked at a few places downtown and fell in love with CityView! gosboi, I also got a 1br/studio, the living room looked to be a good size. Do you think that it will fit a sectional, with some room to spare?

It all depends on how you arrange it. I'm in a studio unit in CityView and I was able to fit a sofa, love seat, arm chair, coffee table, sofa/wine rack table and an end table in the living room area and it still open space. Im sure you could.

here are some photos of CityView Apartments from apartments.com They finally uploaded photos on that site.

There are 4 apartment buildings and some units (not seen in these photos) have exposed brick walls, hardwood floors and exposed truss ceilings. Construction will soon begin on the next phase which will include an additional 4 apartment buildings, one being an L-Shaped 6-story midrise.

Here is my bathroom in my CityView Apartment. I went to Garden Ridge and Bed Bath & Beyond and got a few home accents.

BTW Welcome Neighbor! Maybe we'll bump into each other sometime. Everyone seems to love the studio layout over the one and two bedroom layout even though its smaller. I like the studio layout because it not too big or small for me. I thought the regular one bedroom apartment was a little large for my needs and I didnt need to spend the extra money for it. I like how the studio apartments have hallways so you dont feel like you are living in one or two rooms. And I also love the glass door and window to the bedroom. Thats very unique. The studios have unique features not found in the one and two bedroom apartments. I still dont know why they called them studio apartments since the bedroom is a totally seperate room from the living room. Usually when you think of studio apartements, the kitchen, living room and bedroom are all one room.

Did you get the "city view" side of the building or the "King Street" side?

I have a first floor unit, on the cityview side! I move in on the 18th of Feb, and can't wait! I really hope I can get a sectional, in the living room, so when I have guest they can crash on it. I also got the 1br/Studio wtih the exposted brick wall, thought it was a good feature. I too like the glass door in the bedroom, I've never seen this anywhere. And not to mention all the amenities in the club house, so I can still watch the Buccaneers, play on Sundays without getting Direct TV!

Wow thats Great! There are some well known people that live at CityView too. Our chief meterologist Eric Chilton at WFMY News 2 lives here at CityView and Josh from radio station 107.5 KZL lives here. I think Eric was the weather guy in the Tampa area at one time so you may be familiar with him. I will say that Signature Properties have been very professional and helpful with me moving in. You are going to enjoy this place.

I also have a first floor studio on the CityView side. I dont have the exposed brick wall so I painted my wall so it wouldnt look so plain. If you cant have brick, a painted accent wall is the next best thing. But the studio next to me has the exposed brick wall and nobody has moved in yet. You could end up being my next door neighbor. Do you know what building you'll be in?

I want to say it was building 3, but I'm not positive on that. I do remember that it is something J. From what I was told when I had my tour, there are only two bottom floor units left on the "city side", that are completed. I know that the view from one of the units was diretly blocked by the trash, so I choose the other avalible studio, on the first floor.

then you would be next to me if you chose the other one. The vacant unit next to me is 1J. Origionally they had me set to move into the unit where the trash dumpster blocks the view but the counters were cut incorrectly in that unit and they told me Id have to wait longer to move in that unit so they moved me into the second building from the clubhouse (third building coming from the railyard) At first I wanted the other unit (before I knew there would be a dumpster and wall blocking the view) because the location of that unit without the dumpster has the best first floor view because the platform shed at the train station doesnt block any of the view there. So it would be a 100% clear view. But now im glad I was moved because I dont want to have a dumpster in front of me. I do know of four studio units on the city view side that are complete. I occupy one of them and someone else occupies another one in the building in front of the dumpster. that leaves two that are complete and vacant, the one in front of the dumpster and the one next to me. You are my next door neighbor

Well hello neighbor! I felt the same, I didn't want to have the dumpster bocking my view. I can't wait to move, it's been a long couple of months. I've been checking the local weather in greensboro, man it's been cold there! Did you get any snow? Have you heard anything more about, if they where going to build a park next to City View? I have a dog and it would be nice to be able to bring him somewhere close to walk.

We got just a little bit of snow last week but lately its been mainly freezing rain. The roads have been bad with black ice and there have been numerous accidents. As for the park, I know the former mayor has said the city is trying to work out a deal with Norfolk Southern to purchase the railyard next to CityView so it can be converted to a park. Action Greensboro's downtown comprehensive plans calls for it to be called Rail Yard Park and would actually connect with planned green spaces along the train tracks stretching a mile. That plan calls for a chain of ponds along the "linear park". However I dont know what the time table is on this. Also there is a plan to create a 4 mile downtown greenway which will loop around the center-city and would be perfect for walking dogs. Construction on the first leg is suppose to begin next year in time for the city's 200th birthday. The greenway will include water features, decorative light columns, tennis courts, bike path, an outdoor junior olympic competiton pool, multi-purpose sports building, mini parks, outdoor classes for the bordering colleges, a downtown school with a play lawn, art displays and more. Its a really ambitious plan and Greensboro will be the first city in North Carolina and one of the very few cities in the country that will have a greenway that loops around downtown. The eastern leg of the Greenway will border CityView on the east and there will be a large park bordering CityView on the west side. Its just the perfect place to live downtown.

Here is an axon view of Action Greensboro's comprehensive plan, Its a little outdated because the baseball stadium was actually built in the north west part of downtown but you can see the linear park and chain of ponds along the railroad tracks.
