Default City View at Southside need info fast!!!!

As I have posted previously, we are less than 2 weeks away from relocating to the Triad from S. Fla. I am considering a corporate apt at the new development, City View at Southside for the first 6 months or so to feel out the area and decide where we want to buy or build. Is it a good area? Good schools close by? Safe?
Please help....
Craig

It's right next to the railroad tracks near downtown Greensboro. If you can put up with that, and the very loud and busy Friday and Saturday nights, no worries. School districts are lindley Elementary, Kiser Middle and Grimsley High. They are all pretty good.

Crime and safety shouldn't be an issue so much in Downtown GSBO- extra foot patrols are in place, with a new district setup for police just to cover the downtown area. Of course, there are no guarantees, but that's a pretty nice area. Not close to any supermarkets or anything but walking distance to restaurants, clubs, cool shops, etc.

The one I sent is the only one my office has available right now- where will you be working? Your office location may determine what's best for you.

Just FYI, the home in HP is only 10 mins or so from you down Wendover and you will be close to the Wendover/I40 interchange with lots of shopping and the Eastchester/68 & Wendover intersection, which has everything! Literally growing like crazy. With traffic, the place near downtown might be 20 mins. If it matters.

If it's only temporary, then you'll be fine either way. But if you plan on being out in 3 months or so, both high schools are good, but you will be transferring them to a different school if you buy/build up north or northwest Guilford Co.

Hello possible future neighbor! I too will be moving to CityView apartments at Southside. My move in date is around mid-November. Its a very nice neighborhood. There is a nice upscale Wine Cafe' about a block away called The Press which has live Jazz music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. CityView is a nice choice because it will have a business center for its residents, free wifi, cardio center, clubhouse, resort style outdoor pool with sundeck and a coffee/tea shop. I got one of the studio units on the "city view" side of the complex.

here are some photos of CityView that I recently took

Photos of the neighborhood which is located in the southeast qaudrant of downtown. You can get an idea of the kind of neighborhood you'd be moving into.

here is The Press Wine Cafe' (a block from CityView Apartments)

here are other residences in Southside, many of which include live-work units

Hopefully these photos helped you out!
