I am recently moving into Winston salem. My work place is near the baptist medical center. Any suggestions regarding where to live? I am looking for a safe area with excellent school system. Basically looking for townhomes but apartment/house is ok too. Appreciate any input.

I'd suggest living in that immediate area.
When you search look for "Ardmore" and "Miller Park" being advertised.

These are 30 some rental listings in the area to get you started: click here

Ardmore Neighborhood Association | Board meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on Miller St.<br> All Ardmore residents are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Other than the neighborhood public schools right there?

If you look outside that "walk to work" area...
look to the north and west areas of town rather than the east or south.

The public schools in the area are good. R.J. Reynolds High, probably either Jefferson or Wiley Middle, and your choice of several elementary schools (depends on exact address).

If it's private schools you're after, Reedemer School (Presbyterian) is in the area, but I can't say I know much about it.

Thank you. I am not necessary looking for walk to work areas. It is ok if i have to drive for 15 to 20 mins. Can you please mention names of some areas when you said north/west. Basically I want good schools and family oriented areas. Thanks in advance.

Clemmons and Lewisville are both very desirable areas with good schools, and are within 15 minutes of Baptist Hospital.

When we first moved here from Ohio, we choose Clemmons! It is a very nice area and we are happy with our choice! It is safe and people are friendly!
