We are relocating to the Triad area and I need some help identifying the best suburb for my family. A good School system is very important (3 Kids 1yrs, 7yrs &16 yrs) and it would not hurt if the school has a good sports program, because my son plays football/Track. We have four towns on our short list (Clemmons, Rural Hall, Kernersville and Thomasville) and I am looking for the pros and cons of each town.

Clemmons, Rural Hall, Kernersville are of a kind in that they all orbit Winston.
How Thomsaville get's into the mix is perplexing.

Too subjective. Try asking far more specific questions.

Clemmons, Rural Hall, Kernersville are all in the Forsyth County system.

Some relatively objective sources of comparative data:
NC School Report Cards
North Carolina Schools - North Carolina State School Ratings - Public and Private
North Carolina State Elementary Schools - NC School Rankings

More than that is also too subjective.
Again, try asking specific questions if you want more than just a strangers opinion.

Out of the three Clemmons is the best choice, but also check out Siler City is about 30 minutes from downtown Greensboro. Its about 50 minutes to Winston so if you are looking to being close to Winston thats not a good choice, even though I do know a few people who do the commute. If you are working in Greensboro I would check out Siler City it is a wonderful town with charm and there is a new addition to the great chatham charter school and now its a k-12 school. The downtown is really nice and we have a wal-mart, few good places to eat and very nice people. plus the home prices are really low from what you can get. Siler City is where the actress Frances Bavier who played Aunt Bee retired. She moved to Siler City because of the mayberry feel the town had. I'll hope this helps
