Having lived in SW Florida for nearly 25 years, we really miss the change of seasons. We remember all the great things that seasonal changes bring, having lived for many years in Philadelphia prior to our move to Naples. Anyway, a job opportunity has been given to us and it looks like we'll be moving to the Greensboro area. We're excited by this. We have two teenagers (one who is about to enter college, though, and the other is 15 yrs old). We have always dreamed of living on some acreage, in a log home preferably; and are hoping that we can find that kind of opportunity somewhere that is commutable to Greensboro. We'd love to learn any pearls of wisdom that anyone can offer about the area and, in particular, what we can expect regarding winter. Are there significant chances that we will be able to experience some significant snowfalls, rather than mere "dustings"? And is the foliage colorful during autumns? I know this may sound like a strange preoccupation with weather, but this "Florida lifestyle" has proven quite dull (hot, and hotter), as far as weather is concerned. And we're really looking forward to experiencing some snow again. Thanks for any information you might share with us!

Land is fairly abundant around the Greensboro area, while you may not find a log cabin you should be able to find the desired acreage and have one built.
The seasons here are great; four distinct seasons with spring & fall being my favorite. The summer can be quite hot & humid and winter is generally mild with some snow. This year we had one snow accumulating about 3-4 inches. Approximately every 8-10yrs the area will see unusual cold with more precipitation than normal. The fall is fantastic and depending on the weather the leaves can be stunningly colorful

Default To: weluvtn - log cabin for sale

I just saw this listed in the Greensboro Yes Weekly paper under the real estate section. I thought it was something you might be interested in.
